I use IIS 8.5, which is running on Windows Server 2016.
I have to setup some enviroments which is same setting for IIS.
First, the settings of server have been completed.
Second, I tried to copy %systemroot%\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config\applicationHost.config from setting up completed one. (I have already taken backup file.)
And I pasted this file on other server.
But a application pool was stopped.(other application pool is working.)
Even when I restarted new server, this application pool was stopped.(I expect all application pool is auto start)
I couldn't find article that we can copy applicationHost.config.

Can I apply applicationHost.config to other server?

(I don't want to setup on GUI. It'll occur something mistake.)

    Best regards,

    Hi Hiroshi,

Can I apply applicationHost.config to other server?

As far as I know, if you want to copy applicationHost.config completely, it is impossible, because different computers have different default settings. The applicationHost.config includes definitions of all sites, applications, virtual directories and application pools, as well as global defaults for the web server settings. so I suggest you copy the part of the setting element you want to use.

    Best regards,

    Sam
