WordPress is missing from WebPI 5.1? RRS feed

I'm trying to install WordPress on Windows Server 2012 R2, IIS 8.5, using WebPI 5.1.

From all the guides I can find online, it should be as easy as just searching for WordPress in WebPI, and then installing it.

However, when I do search for WordPress, nothing comes up.

Looking at the feed that WebPI 5.1 seems to be using to fetch available packages ( https://aka.ms/webpifeed51 ), looks like WordPress is missing.

Can anyone confirm WordPress was actually removed from WebPI for whatever reason?

Also, is there any way to perform install the "old" easy way? Or should I go with installing PHP and MySQL separately, and configure whatever needs to be configured, manually now?

    Thanks!

    Hi MacDee,

By any chance, do you have any idea why Applications tab is completely empty on my side? (also, confirmed by the lack of WordPress in the XML packages list the WebPI seemingly fetches to populate itself? Is WordPress still supported in WebPI 5.1? (I think that would potentially be of use by other folks who might stumble on the same issue…)

Maybe WebPI 5.1 no longer supports WordPress, I use WebPI 5.0.

    Download WebPI 5.0

    Best regards,

    Sam

Do you mean you didn't find WordPress in the Web Platform Installer?

If you cannot download it in the Web Platform Installer, you can try to install it using an external link:

    http://wordpress.org/download

And yes, I don't see anything under Applications tab, and WordPress search only returns WebMatrix 3. I'm not sure if that's expected - and that's what I wanted to confirm. We wanted to ask one of our clients to install WordPress on their machine so we can deploy a site for them, and I was just looking for the easiest way for them to do that.

The actual WebPI wordpress installed walked a user through all the steps required, so I is unfortunate that for some reason it's not there anymore.

Eventually, I just suggested to install PHP and MySQL separately, adding MySQL user via MySQL Console, and then install WordPress by downloading and configuring as normally done on Linux machines. But still… an easier way is always easier.

    Thanks again!

That page downloads 5.1 for me for whatever weird reason.

But anyways, I guess that's a much as we can figure out in this thread. Thanks for all your help and time!
