Automation tool development to follow coding guideline

Question

Hi,

I want to develop  a tool that will validate my coding guide lines like:

 - The curly brace should be in next line

-  Parenthesis position

- member variable should start with m_

Can anyone please suggest how to start or which language/tool is easy to do this.

Visual Studio is a dev tool that contains static code analysis for code, I use it for C# (for .NET). It is shipped with a lot of important rules about using .NET and it allows you to create custom rules too (see http://blogs.msdn.com/b/codeanalysis/archive/2010/03/26/how-to-write-custom-static-code-analysis-rules-and-integrate-them-into-visual-studio-2010.aspx) Further more, you can add StyleCop to Visual Studio which has more style-related rules (such as the curly braces and member variable names) which you can get here: https://stylecop.codeplex.com/

So, if you're using Visual Studio/.NET there is more than enough avaiable, and I'd guess other mature languages have plenty of such solutions available as well.
