Hello. I'm trying to install web deploy 3.5 from web platform deploy 5.1, I can find but when trying to install I give the next error: Web Deploy 3.5 - 2013 This product did no download successfully: The remote server returner an error: (404) Not Found. And if I try to download it manually on the next link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39277 I also get: We're sorry, this download is no longer available. Did you remove the web deploy 3.5 from you supported software?

I suggest you use Web Deploy v3.6.

    Web Deploy v3.6

    Best regards,

    Sam

    Hi everyone

Thanks for posting - I'm going to share a bit of background on what is probably going on in this situation and any others with installers no longer being available via WebPI

The WebPI feed is owned by the individual product teams and maintained by me.  As you are aware, the feed contains a wide array of products and no individual team or person could possible maintain each and every entry.  It is the responsibility of the teams owning the installer to own their entry, since they best know when to update or fix it.

In the current scenario, a subset of installers hosted on the download center are signed with a certificate that is no approved and have been automatically removed.  The owning teams are required to re-sign and re-publish their installer for it available again.  In several/many cases, the owning team has elected not to re-sign and re-publish their installer, most likely because that version is no longer supported.  That is why you are receiving a 404 when you attempt to install.  For products that are still officially supported, please let me know.  I can try to find a owner (it's sometimes unlikely, as the people I originally worked with are no longer part of that team).  For products that are no longer supported, it's my guess that they will not be brought back online, but that decision lies with the individual product team that owns it

Hope this provides some clarity - thanks

    Chris

    Hello Chris.

Then I have to undestand that web deploy 3.5 is not longer supported?
Where can I check if if is not longer supported?

I will do as samwu suggested and I'll change to web deploy 3.6. But how can I know when it will be not longer supported?
My main concern is that i'm unable to find information about the support or not support of this software. It will be perfect if there wasn't an 404 error but a not longer supported message with the new version if there is.

Thanks for the post - I have to admit, getting that exact info is a bit tricky.  From what I can determine, Web Deploy does not have a stand alone support policy, but rather is part of the support policy for IIS.  It looks like Web Deploy 3.5 shipped in July 2013.  From what I can see, IIS 8.0 was the latest version at that time.  Both IIS 8.0 and 8.5 ended mainstream support in 2018, so my expectation is Web Deploy 3.5 would not be mainstream supported after Nov 2018.  IIS 10 (which Web Deploy 3.6 may be connected to support-wise) ends mainstream support in Jan 2022.

Short answer is I cannot give you a definitive answer.  You'd have to contact Microsoft support and inquire, but my rough guess can Web Deploy 3.6 is the only supported version and mainstream support ends in Jan 2022.

    Thanks

    Chris
